Leatherface keert terug op het grote scherm

Lionsgate en Millennium Films hebben vandaag de eerste poster van Leatherface vrijgegeven. De film is het nieuwe deel in de Texas Chainsaw Massacre serie. Deze horror franchise begon in 1974 met Tobe Hooper’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Het verhaal gaat over een groep tieners die in de ban van een kannibalistische familie komen. Hierna volgden een viertal vervolgen en een remake inclusief een sequel.

Een korte samenvatting is meteen bekend gemaakt:

A prequel to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre which will explore the origins of the horror icon in the 1970s, the story will begin with the Leatherface character in his teenage years. He resides in a mental institution until he joins a pack of fellow patients who all break out and go on the run from the authorities. The film will mark the eighth overall entry in the franchise, which currently includes, in addition to Tobe Hooper’s original, three sequels, a remake, a prequel to the remake and a modern-day “direct sequel.

Leatherface wordt geregisseerd door Julian Maury en Alexandre Bustillo (Inside, Livid). Seth M. Sherwood heeft het scenario geschreven.

Stephen Dorff, Vanessa Grasse, Sam Strike en Lilli Taylor vormen de cast.

Leatherface word binnenkort verwacht in de bioscoop.
