Jared Leto: “I’m a little confused, too about Joker movie plans”

Ben je in de war met de aankomende Warner Bros. films waarin Jared Leto The Joker zal spelen? Hij ook! Leto en 30 Seconds to Mars bandlid Tomo Milicevic spraken met ODE tijdens de lancering van het Activision/Bungie spel Destiny 2. Tijdens het gesprek beantwoorde hij een vraag over de Joker films waarin hij te zien zal zijn. Hij zei:

“I’m a little confused too, but yeah, there are a couple of things happening in the DC world and I loved the Joker, he’s a great character, a really fun character to play. It’s a big universe and when you play the Joker, there’s no ownership there. You have the honor of holding the baton for a little while and then passing it off. But there are other films in development and I’m excited to see what comes from them.”

Warner Bros. Pictures en DC zijn in de vroege ontwikkeling van een Joker oorsprongsfilm, welke The Hangover‘s Todd Phillips zal regisseren en Martin Scorsese zal deze produceren. Jared Leto zal naar verwachting niet de rol van The Joker spelen in de film. Daarnaast wordt er gewerkt aan een Joker en Harley Quinn film, waarin Leto en zijn Suicide Squad collega Margot Robbie de hoofdrollen zullen spelen.

The Joker werd eerder gespeeld door Jack Nicholson in Batman, door Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight en door Jared Leto in Suicide Squad. Leto zal het personage ook spelen in de Suicide Squad sequel. Eerder vandaag werd aangekondigd dat Gavin O’Connor deze zal schrijven en regisseren.
