Ellen Page wil een Kitty Pryde-spinoff film

Zeven jaar geleden speelde Ellen Page in X-Men: The Last Stand de rol van Kitty Pryde. Ze zal ook te zien zijn in X-Men: Days of Future Past. De actrice vertelde tijdens een interview dat ze graag een spin-off film rondom het personage zou willen maken met Joss Whedon, de regisseur van The Avengers. De actrice vertelde:

“I have heard that, yeah! Well, I’m available! I love that. Kitty Pryde’s awesome. I’m super grateful to be the actress who’s gotten to be her, and you only desperately hope that the true fans who have a right to demand what they want and who have been passionate about these stories for a really long time, that you can pull it off for them. I would be so thrilled to play Kitty Pryde again. I really would.”

Whedon heeft het op dit moment druk met het Marvel Cinematic Universe en 20th Century Fox heeft de rechten op de X-Men-franchise in handen, waardoor de kans klein lijkt dat Whedon die film zal maken. In 2009 vertelde Whedon nog dat hij had geprobeerd de film te maken bij Fox, maar dat de studio geen interesse had.
