Crowdfunding voor Belgische horrorfilm The Nest

Er is een crowdfundingscampagne gestart voor The Nest, de afstudeerfilm van Matthias De Bondt. Het gaat hier om een psychologische horrorfilm.

In The Nest zien we David, een man die zijn voet breekt en hulp zoekt. Hij klopt aan bij de jonge Eva, die samenwoont met haar oudere zus Manon. Zij vangen de gewonde man op. In eerste instantie is David blij met de gastvrijheid van de twee mooie dames, totdat hij vermoed dat ze andere plannen met hem hebben…

De film haalt zijn inspiratie uit Giallo, een subgenre dat in de jaren 70 populair was in Italië. De mensen achter het project omschrijven dit als volgt:

”This film is inspired by the Giallo, a horrorgenre that originated in Italy during the seventies. Gialli are frequently associated with stylish visuals. Vivid colors and bizarre camera angles, dizzying pans and flamboyant tracking shots, disorienting framing and composition, fetishistic close-ups of quivering eyes and weird objects. These films employ strongly stylized and even occasionally surreal uses of color. It creates an impressionistic imagery, one that can be associated with people living in fear, paranoia or delusion. This is why I believe this particuar visual style perfectly fits the story.”
