Alexandra Daddario krijgt rol in Baywatch

Actrice Alexandra Daddario krijgt een rol in de aankomende Baywatch–film. Dat heeft hoofdrolspeler Dwayne Johnson bevestigd door middel van een bericht op Instagram. Hij en Daddario speelden al eerder samen in rampenfilm San Andreas. Het was vorige week nog de vraag wie van de 7 actrices de hoofdrol zou krijgen in Baywatch. Daddario heeft het dus gewonnen van onder andere Nina Dobrev en Ashley Benson. Naast Johnson en Daddario zal ook Zac Efron een rol spelen in de film van regisseur Seth Gordon.

Baywatch (gedurende de laatste twee seizoenen Baywatch Hawaii) is een Amerikaanse televisieserie over strandwachten die de stranden van Malibu in Los Angeles County bewaken. De reeks liep van 1989 tot 2001, met een totaal van 243 afleveringen. De film zal gaan over een arrogante voormalige Olympische sporter die ruzie krijgt met een aantal elite-badmeesters. Damien Shannon en Mark Swift schreven de nieuwste versie van het script en Beau Flynn.

De opnames zullen in het eerste kwartaal van 2016 van start gaan.
